In addition to the military communities, we are focusing on the native indigenous populations in North Carolina. Children with Indigenous heritage are more likely to suffer from autoimmune illnesses according to the Arthritis Centre, University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. This year we are underway in our campaign of public awareness for underserved communities affected by pediatric arthritis and rheumatologic conditions. We all know exercise is “good for us,” but the benefits can even be greater for children with arthritis – as can the downsides of being physically inactive. That’s why it's especially crucial for children with arthritis to keep moving.
